I think possibly it was the dream from my first year in the sport.
When did you recognize that competing professionally was something that you could do?
When I came from 69th in the English schools cross country, to finishing 2nd the next year and representing my country.

What is your favorite workout?
Possibly 5x400m off 50 seconds recovery. It can give me a good indication to what form I'm in and at times can be a real confidence booster.
What is your least-favorite workout?
Probably slower winter work.

1500, although there's something special about the mile
What is your pre-race / warm-up routine?
10-15 minutes easy running, followed by some dynamic warm up exercises. Then I move on to more explosive running mechanics drills followed by some hard race pace strides of 100-200m 20 minutes before the race.
Piece of your race-day kit you would never be without:
New Balance 1006s
What gets you most excited to compete?
Not knowing what's going to happen as soon as that gun goes.

Any pasta dish

Pizza
What gives you an advantage over your competition?
When I'm in shape, I don't have many weaknesses making me hard to beat.
What food or snack is your guiltiest pleasure?
Crème brulée
What would most people be surprised to learn about you?
I like nothing more than to spend time with my family and close friends
What activity, apart from running, best-defines 'me time' for you?
I spend most of my time with my best friend and conveniently my training partner, Dominic Shaw.
What person has most-shaped your career or life?
Steve Shaw my coach, I owe all of my success to him.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
"You're ready when you're ready."
